Every company in the directory holds a current mold license from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR). We checked the licenses against TDLR's published license data on October 16, 2026. Each listing shows the license number, the license type, the status wording TDLR uses and the expiration date in the data, with the date we checked it. We don't translate that into a generic "licensed" badge, and we don't add anything that isn't in the record.
Which TDLR licenses we use
- Mold Remediation Company license: listed as "Mold remediation".
- Mold Assessment Company license: listed as "Mold assessment / testing".
We use TDLR's company license files and keep only licenses with the status "CURRENT" and an expiration date on or after October 16, 2026, for companies with a Texas business address. Licenses held by individuals (contractors, consultants, workers) are not listed. A company that appears in both files under the same name is shown once, with both licenses. We left out in-house licenses held by public bodies such as school districts and universities, and records whose name is an email address.
TDLR licenses mold assessment and mold remediation separately, and its guidance says a licensee may not conduct both on the same project. That's why every listing shows which license type it holds, and why we route requests for "testing and removal" to separate firms.
What a listing does not tell you
- It isn't a rating, review or recommendation of workmanship.
- It doesn't confirm insurance. Ask for a current certificate.
- It doesn't mean the company has agreed to receive referrals or will respond.
- It doesn't show whether a license changed after our check date. Confirm the status in the TDLR license search.
What we publish, and what we don't
Public listings show the company name (the trade name where TDLR lists one), city, ZIP code, county and license details. TDLR's data also contains street addresses and phone numbers; we don't publish them, and we don't publish owner or personnel names or email addresses. We don't publish ratings, reviews, descriptions or years in business. Map pins and distances use a city-level point, not the street address.
Service areas are estimates
TDLR records a business address, not a service area. We estimate one from that address: the company's own county, the counties bordering it, and anywhere within60 miles of its city. Every county and city page says so. Ask each company whether it covers your address.
Thin pages stay out of search
Every Texas county and city has a page listing the companies that serve it by this estimate. A page is indexed when at least 3 licensed companies serve it, or when fewer serve it and at least one of them is based in the same county. Other pages still show the nearest companies with their distance, but are marked noindex and left out of our sitemap.

Corrections
Records change. If a listing is wrong or out of date, contact us through the company form and we'll recheck it against TDLR data.
