Mold assessment and mold remediation
Texas licenses the two jobs separately. Choose a service below to see what to compare and what a written scope should include.
Mold assessment finds out whether mold is present and, where needed, produces the written remediation plan. Mold remediation is the removal, cleaning or other treatment of the mold. In Texas, both are licensed by TDLR, and TDLR's guidance says one licensee may not do both on the same project.

Give every company the same brief
Share the same photos, notes about any leak or flood and when it happened, and any assessment report or protocol you already have. Ask each company to list what is included, what is excluded and what another trade (plumber, roofer, HVAC) needs to fix first.
Check the license, then the fit
Our Texas directory lists companies with a current TDLR mold license, checked against TDLR data. A license shows legal standing to do the work; it doesn't rate the work. Read how we verify listings.
