Service areas are estimates from each company's business address in the TDLR record, not areas the companies have confirmed. We count a company as serving its own county, the counties bordering it and anywhere within 60 miles of its city. Distances are measured between city-level points, not street addresses. Ask each company whether it covers your address.
Texas licenses mold assessment and mold remediation separately (Occupations Code chapter 1958, TDLR rules at 16 TAC chapter 78). A Mold Assessment Company license covers inspecting for mold and writing the remediation plan; a Mold Remediation Company license covers removing, cleaning or treating mold. TDLR's guidance says a licensee may not do both the assessment and the remediation on the same project, and that visible mold of less than 25 contiguous square feet can be cleaned up by people who are not licensed.
Look up the company in the TDLR license search before you sign, and read the TDLR mold program pages for the rules that apply to your project. A license shows legal standing to do the licensed work. It isn't a rating of workmanship. How we verify listings.
